Maybe, but this bit me and the solution was to re-build gmake. The changes in what routines are in libc cause this problem. I really think that UPDATING should have a note in the V4 to V5 section that you should re-build gmake before building any port that uses it. Otherwise there are several bad things that can happen. (FWIW, you will probably need to re-build bison, as well, but that only prevents things from building. It does no produce bad executables.) -- R.
