FWIW: I am also using an USB to boot install the FreeBSD on my Toshiba 3480CT lap. It is a Toshiba PA3043U-1FDD; BUT it takes no more than a couple of minutes to load the 4.8 kern and mfsroot floppies. /Dorin.
