--- Comment #28 from Olivier Duchateau <[email protected]> ---
(In reply to Marko Cupać from comment #27)

With .xprofile, you don't need .xinitrc (or .xsessions).

If you need to define your locale, put it in your AccountsService profile.

If you can't open a session, check ~/.xsessions-errors and /var/log/lightdm/

I can see, the Cinnamon portal backend already supports gnome-keyring, so no
need to launch it manually. XDG_RUNTIME_DIR and SSH_AUTH_SOCK variables need to
be defined (everything is explained in xprofile file).

Personally I use the Pantheon desktop and everything is fine (backend of this
desktop supports the gnome-keyring too), and I have keyring/ subdirectory:

>> ls -l /var/run/xdg/olivierd/keyring/
>>total 0
>>srwxr-xr-x 1 olivierd users 0 8 mars 11:54 pkcs11
>>srwxr-xr-x 1 olivierd users 0 8 mars 11:54 ssh

I also use x11/gnome-flashback and x11/budgie-desktop, and with these desktop
environments the gnome-keyring daemon must be started manually.
