Section 17.4.2. Automounting Removable Media (
https://www.freebsd.org/doc/handbook/usb-disks.html ) of the Handbook states:
"Each file system that can be automatically mounted appears as a directory in
/media/."
That's not quite correct. Desktop shortcuts (which haven't work for me under
Caja or Thunar) are created for each removable drive under /media but the
drives are actually mounted under /autofs.
This is the case under FreeBSD 12 and TrueOS at least. I've not tried it under
FreeBSD 11 yet so maybe the handbook is correct for FreeBSD 11 and earlier?
