I suspect this is because kbdmap (correctly) looks into /usr/share/vt/keymaps
when sysctl kern.vty is set to "vt", and the near-equivalent (diff -u says it
uses UTF-8 instead of ISO 8859 for the euro sign) is called
/usr/share/vt/keymaps/uk.kbd instead. (This may or may not be an oversight.
Maybe use of UTF-8 was the rationale for changing the name.)
