Bugzilla Automation <[email protected]> has asked freebsd-gecko (Nobody) <[email protected]> for maintainer-feedback: Bug 296825: www/firefox: regression of bug 277021 – libgkcodecs.so: Undefined symbol "sin" (153.0,2) https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=296825
--- Description --- See Also: https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=277021 After a fresh git pull of the ports tree, www/firefox was updated from 152.0.6,2 to 153.0,2. After the update, Firefox fails to start with: XPCOMGlueLoad error for file /usr/local/lib/firefox/libgkcodecs.so: /usr/local/lib/firefox/libgkcodecs.so: Undefined symbol "sin" Couldn't load XPCOM. This is identical to the issue previously reported and fixed in bug 277021. It appears to have regressed with the 153.0,2 update, likely due to the av1/dav1d codec libraries linked into libgkcodecs.so again missing an explicit -lm dependency for the lld linker. Workaround: LD_PRELOAD=/lib/libm.so.5 firefox starts fine, confirming the same root cause as 277021. System: FreeBSD 15.1-CURRENT/STABLE (uname -a: <hier einfügen>) Ports tree: fresh git pull as of 2026-07-16 Steps to reproduce: 1. csup/git pull ports tree 2. make -C /usr/ports/www/firefox clean install 3. Run firefox 4. Observe XPCOMGlueLoad error Workaround that resolves the issue: Adding LDFLAGS+= -lm for www/firefox in make.conf and rebuilding fixes it, same as noted in comment #103 of bug 277021.
