Hi, I tested FreeBSD+QLogic+EMC on FreeBSD 8.2-RELEASE actually.
First of all, you need to load the isp(4) driver using the ispfw module, via /boot/loader.conf Then, you will be able to view the LUNs from your EMC box. However, 8.2-RELEASE has a broken GEOM_MULTIPATH driver, which means you won't be able to implement path failover (it doesn't work). Also, I am not sure how FreeBSD would handle (even with latest multipath drivers) the switch of storage processors in the event of storage failure. So I would personally recommend using 9.0 for the latest GEOM_MULTIPATH version (it's been rewritten), and testing : - Fibre path failover - Storage Processor failover Cheers, On 05/02/2012 09:59 PM, Mustafa Resul Çetinel wrote: > Hi everyone, > > I'm looking to put together a SAN box with my FreeBSD.
