I use "Mitsubishi MCA 640" with Tekram 390F scsi card.
I guess one of error message is from
/usr/src/sys/kern/subr_diskslice.c
line 308 (or line 314, I am not very sure)
which is:
"dscheck: b_bcount %ld is not on a sector boundary (ssize %d)\n"
I think this can help you to find why we say that 2048/sector won't work.
