Yes, the book explains everything on 4.3BSD, so everything applies to
FreeBSD as well.  Of course, FreeBSD (and the other BSD's, too) have
had some improvements on various points in the meanwhile.
However, since Stevens covers most things related to the Posix and
other standards, you can expect everything in the book to work.
