kvtop() on alpha question

Hello!

I have a question:

How can the if_ed driver work on FreeBSD/Alpha, if it uses kvtop(),
but kvtop() is only defined in sys/i386/i386/vm_machdep.c?

I'm very confused, and I wonder if someone can enlighten me, please.
