[Charset iso-8859-1 unsupported, filtering to ASCII...]

Please send email to FreeBSD lists in plain ASCII, this really hoses
those of us who use (or are stuck with) old mailers.

Did you try sticking the T1 card in another PCI slot?  Some mothers have
on-board resources like ethernet controllers "shared" with certain PCI
slots, which leads to this sort of confusion.
