TIP command

Hi,
tell me how can i connect to remote system by using
tip command.
i have connected two machines by serial  line.
i gave tip cuaa0c and it said connected.but how can i
make it to ask for user name.
what shd i enter in /etc/remote.shd i enter remote
system name? 
pls tell me details abt connecting to remote system.
