Dear Greg: Hi.
I need to run large address space jobs using FreeBSD 4.3 I have already upp'ed the available space to about 1.5GB (6 * 256MB). But that was not enough and now I would like to go to at least 2GB or perhaps!, 2.5GB. At present time we have the following params in the kernel config; MAXDSIZ="(1024*1024*6*256)" DFLDSIZ="(1024*1024*6*256)" Also kernel has been slimmed down to exclude any and all unnecessary devices and parameters we are not using. Can you help me understand what I need to do. I am an experienced programmer and this is quite important to me. I hope you feel appreciated. Many people in the FreeBSD community value your service. My application does not require any graphics or X support. All I need to do is issue many large mallocs'. (Seems so simple, doesn't it.)
