What version of FreeBSD are you running? We had the same problem but when we updated the sources to 4.6-stable it was fixed in src/sys/pci/if_sis.c on February 19. Check the source of the file and make sure you have at least version 1.13.4.20. If you don't, update the sources and recompile.
