To answer my own post...

ral(4) is a native rt2500 driver for *BSD.  It was committed to
CURRENT on April 19.  See: http://damien.bergamini.free.fr/ral/.

Bill, if you check the link "Supported Devices" on this page you will
get a table of cards with the rt2500 chipset.  I think that this is
the same table that I pointed you to earlier.
