i think its the acpi module.
you have to build it in the kernel, you have to make SURE you build it in kernel.

if you delete all the modules

rm /boot/modules

and you DON'T BUILD THE MODULES AT ALL, OR ERASE THEM WHEN DONE, and put device acpi in kernel, it should work.
