I've got an O2 Germany branded Huawai U169 here that offers the main serial port as it's first function, so it is working with the old driver already. The new driver (as in -current as of yesterday) seems to work fine for the PPP connection and using cuaU0.2 to query the status while the connection is active. Machine is a VMware image hosted on a Mac Pro.

Trying to mount the ISO9660 image fails with:
