Not exactly MB suggestion, but offer to expand your look on requirements.

6x/8x SATA may be replaced with one SAS board (some of LSI Logic based on 
PCI-E) and enough number of cables

I have a (admittedly idiosyncratic) dislike of SCSI. It's probably because I've 
been writing code to work with (S)ATA for fifteen years, and haven't really 
wrapped my head around SAS. 

 

I'll keep that in mind though, if I can't find anything that suits my needs.
