You'll have to provide sustantially more information before a diagnosis can be started.

Which version of FreeBSD? Network topology? Which hardware (CPU, NICs, memory), and you did measure the same setup once with one and one with two CPUs (and not different setups/machines), right?

Finally, what were the numbers you got when you measured (and what is chariot)?
