If this is so, then SKIM settings are what confuse OpenOffice.org. You
can do two things:

  * please try to experiment with XMODIFIERS value in your ~/.xinitrc as
    I proposed in my previous post;

  * try not to use SKIM at all; SCIM's GTK2-based panel should work
    within KDE just fine.
