Hi Ruslan, Yes, you can only check for the shared library version itself, not the version of the port/package that installed it: http://www.freebsd.org/doc/en/books/porters-handbook/makefile-depend.html However, there's nothing preventing you from adding the version check above to BUILD_/RUN_DEPENDS and a LIB_DEPENDS with a specific library version. There might be a situation where the shared library version hasn't changed, but you need a minimal version check on the upstream distro.
