At this moment, the ports tree is not set up to handle Python 3 as the default Python. Work is being done in the ports tree to support different (Python) “flavors” (i.e. Python2 and Python 3) without separate py3-* ports. See e.g. https://wiki.freebsd.org/Ports/FlavorsAndSubPackages Ports that don't behave with flavors are being fixed: https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=223071 I think you should wait until that work has been completed and released. Otherwise, you'd have do make duplicate Python 3 based ports of everything required for py3gobject3.
