Try echo �gcc -V� for details :-)

AFAIK the gcc31 and the gcc32 port are marked as dated material so I assume
it's strongly recommented to keep your system compiler and install a port
like gcc32. You can use that by setting an environment variable like
CC=gcc3 (or gcc32) and CXX=g++3, etc.
