Dear Sir/Madam I am trying to install freebsd 4.2 onto an old PII computer. Having read the entire 734 page comlete manuel, I have not com across this problem mentioned in the book at all. This is my problem:
I setup my bios to boot off cdroom, then install the disk 1 installation boot (i386) cd into my cdrom drive. It goes past the memory check then as it tries to boot off my boot cd I get this error: Invalid format >>FreeBSD /i386 BOOT Default: 0fd(o,a)/Kernel Boot: NO/Kernel >>FreeBSD /i386 BOOT Default: 0fd(o,a)/Kernel Boot: If I hit any key the message repeats itself. I have tried to boot off another CD from the FreeBSD toolkit 5.0-Current installation boot cd, packages, X11 But this does not work at all. Please advise me on what I am doing wrong. Or do I have a bad set of cds. Kind reguards, Victor Burzlaff ===== ============================================================Victor Burzlaff44 Montebello Rd APT# C#301Pueblo,Colorado,81001,USA,TEL: 719-595-1257============================================================ __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
