The start-up script is a text file used to start MySQL at boot- up and stop it at shutdown. 1. Did you install MySQL from the ports, using pkg_add or manually from the source code? 2. In /usr/local/etc/rc.d/, did you find any file with a name similar to mysql-server.sh or mysql.sh?
