I'm using them on several clients, wiht squid/samba/ipfilter/sendmail/apache and never had a problem. The networks are mid-sized (300 to 1000 hosts). You can do some research to find the problem: 1. search the logs. 2. Run ps/vmstat/iostat/netstat to see what happens. 3. Take a look at the -i and -m flags to netstat 4. Read tuning(7). You may need to tweak some things. 5. try a 'make buildkernel'. If there are some hardware problems, it will fail.
