My understanding is that as long as pX doesn't change then #X will be
incremented.

If you do another rebuild of your p10 system now then I would imagine
that #X would increase to #1 and will continue to increase until pX is
altered.

Interesting. I'll give it a try.

What confuses me is that p is changed to 10 by updating only the kernel (the world is supposedly the old one). This means that there is no clear indication what is exactly updated (kernel/world) and what is not.
