A job is a runnable process. The run queue is a list containing the processes which are runnable at a particular time. Lower numbers indicate lower CPU load. From "man getloadavg":
Hmm. Somebody could modify the man page of uptime and add a reference to getloadavg. Do you think this would be a good improvement?
By the way, thank you for the information. Since I have two processors now I know that I do not need to worry below 2.0. :-)
