Having finally taken a minute to think about it, I'm fairly sure that putting that option into the command line in /usr/local/lib/X11/xdm/Xservers will have the same effect, for xdm. However, I won't have a chance to produce a full (tested) recipe until tomorrow (perhaps tonight).
