According to http://www.openprinting.org/show_printer.cgi?recnum=HP-PhotoSmart_C6180 it should work. You might find the rest of the OpenPrinting site informative as well. What I would recommend is that you install CUPS, with CUPS_OVERWRITE_BASE=true set in /etc/make.conf. After installing CUPS and activating it in /etc/rc.conf, start it and surf to http://localhost:631/ Press the "Add Printer" button and follow the instructions.
