Using your computer under root account is the Windows way of doing things. But even in that world it is now strongly recommended to create a non-privileged account and use it for most tasks. In the Unix world, root is most commonly reserved for system administration tasks. Run adduser (without any arguments) to enter a simple interactive process of adding a new user - and don't use root when you don't need it. See the FreeBSD Handbook for more info on this and other topics. _______________________________________________ firstname.lastname@example.org mailing list http://lists.freebsd.org/mailman/listinfo/freebsd-questions To unsubscribe, send any mail to "[EMAIL PROTECTED]"
