I don't see message sending attempts above. Since you have modified `/etc/rc' can you show me the processes launched for Sendmail, the way they started, and then how you are trying to send an email message? Ideally, something like `mail -v' should show at least an attempt to post the message to the local queue: % $ mail -v keramida % Subject: foo % testing % . % EOT % keramida...
