Sooner or later. this messages will be followed by something along the line of
ad6: WRITE_DMA failed

and you'll get READ_DMA failures as well.

As others have suggested, do not trust this drive.
You may command
        atacontrol mode ad6 pio
or put
        hw.ata.ata_dma=0
in loader.conf.

The errors will disappear. Use this if you can't backup because the reads fail.
Worked for me. YMMV.

I've installed the port, and started the daemon. We'll see what tomorrow brings.

Even if smart does not find anything -- use the drive for junk purposes at max.
