I hope you didn't create a "resolve.conf" file, because it is called
"resolv.conf" without a final "e", i.e.:

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:/root# ls -ld /etc/resol*
-rw-r--r--  1 root  wheel  - 35 Jul 22 01:36 /etc/resolv.conf
