What modules are loaded from loader.conf?
I had two distinct issues on one machine that were entirely due to module loading. One was sound, using snd_driver instead of a specific sound driver caused the machine to reboot. The other issue was nvidia. The binary nvidia driver caused an instant reboot if loaded too early, ie from loader.conf.
