Hello, Yes you're right but what I meant was something like this ;)) http://www.mysqlperformanceblog.com/2006/08/21/using-lvm-for-mysql-backup-and-replication-setup/ It's simple, safe and faster than mysqldump. On 3 GB database it takes only 3-5 seconds.
