Try running these commands:

    kldload /usr/local/modules/fuse.ko
    /usr/local/etc/rc.d/fusefs start
    sysctl vfs.usermount=1

. . . then using an absolute path rather than a relative path.  If that
doesn't work, there's probably something wrong with the install, the
network setup, or the remote machine.
