Did you rebuild all dependent ports on this application?

I just did a deinstall/reinstall. Not sufficient?  What's the procedure
for doing a complete rebuild of the dependents?

I use portmaster, but you can use a host of utilities for this.

portmaster -r gnome-terminal
I would start with that.
