(NB I do not have a multi-boot system with an MBR scheme on it, so I'm not clear on the pre- cise details) You want some variation of # gpart add -t freebsd-ufs ad0[s4] "create" is for the disk-wise scheme "add" is for the individual slices/partitions Again, I haven't played with gpart on an MBR disk, so be careful.
