I added a line for ttys9 to /etc/ttys to start kdm but am still getting xdm started too, I did comment out the line for ttys8 where the xdm stuff is.. Doesn't that file recognize the "#" as a comment or is there another way to do it??
It certainly does recognize # as a comment ...
Here is my line to start kdm, works fine for me: ttyv8 "/usr/local/bin/kdm -nodaemon" xterm on secure
