It's because (as I know from some old articles) if you connect
one device with high-speed, and second with lower speed
onto the same cable, they will BOTH use the lower speed.
And it may be problematic for some new HDD, to be
as slow as CD is (using PIO, or UDMA-33) (although
they all say about standards conformity etc.).
