like this ?

# mysql -u root -p password
Enter password:
ERROR 1045: Access denied for user: '[EMAIL PROTECTED]' (Using password: YES)


if so is there a way I can reset the "root"' passwd for mysql?
I have tried mysqladmin -u root passowrd newpassword and get this
