Careful... Make that find command:

    # find /usr/ports -type f -name README.html -exec rm {} \;

Pedants may also prefer:

    # find /usr/ports -type f -name README.html -print | xargs rm

which will save you about 9000 invocations of rm given a ports tree
fully populated with README.html files.
