So you downloaded to .iso file from the FBSD FTP site. Did you check the CHECKSUM hash value of your downloaded file to the official CHECKSUM hash value from FTP site to verify you have good .iso file?
Just because your download did not terminate does not mean you have good file. You could have installed your system with bad file and that is why it will not boot. Download again and this time verify CHECKSUM hash values so you know it's good before you burn it to CD.
