Yeah see, I wasn't even sure if I was supposed to
install /usr/ports/net/jabber or /usr/ports/net/jabberd

I'll give it a shot, thanks for the quick response.

then goto /usr/local/etc - check the jabberd.xml file - edit
where needed and start from rc.d. Most defaults are fine
for you esp. if you do not do any confernencing.
