Hi folks,

FreeBSD 5.2

On multi-user shell
# gnome-session
could not start 'GNOME.

You need to start GNOME after you've started X. Go to a command prompt and type: echo 'exec gnome-session' > ~/.xinitrc

Then type "startx" to run X & GNOME.

Kindly advise how to make 'GNOME' available for selection on the GUI login screen.

Don't use the ttys. Install the GDM2 port and then look at the startup
script under /usr/X11R6/etc/rc.d and remove the .sample from the end
of the gdm.sh.sample script to get it running.
