i wonder if there is a way to show how many open files there are in the system. Not just my files, all open files.
And how to figure out what the limit is.
"fstat" will show a list of open files.
"sysctl -a | grep file" will show you a number of kernel settings related to files, including the max number of open files and the max number of open files per process.
