To be fair it does say in the UPDATING list that this has to be done, when portupgrade started downloading 4.x instinct made me hit ctrl-c and check the UPDATING because its a major version change, and the problem is authlib overwrites part of courier-imap which of course means you will need to reinstall it after authlib is installed.
