hmm! are you sure it isn't just picking up a built-in firewire port, and not
picking up the micro-pci card at all?
To be honest, I have no clue... I do have another 1u Server in a coloc that uses the fxp driver for the builtin ethernet card.
Is there any way to find out ? I can post my entire dmesg if that helps ?

in which is detected as fxp0
