i was clearing out some files in /usr and accidentally did something and now
command such as: clear, make, whereis no longer work ... how can i get them
back to working ?
You could try doing an upgrade from the CD.
/stand/sysinstall
If you have a working system, you could try copying the files over from the working system to the broken system.
If you built the system yourself (buildworld...) they may still be in the /usr/obj tree somewhere.
